Adur & Worthing Councils commit more funding to support residents with the cost of living

Adur & Worthing Councils will provide more financial support for schemes that tackle the effects of the cost of living crisis with money from the government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF).

The councils have secured over £650,000 from the central government fund, with the largest portion set aside for projects that support residents in Adur and Worthing with the cost of living.

Adur & Worthing Councils leaders confirm appointment of interim chief executive

Councillors have officially appointed Paul Brewer as the interim chief executive for Adur & Worthing Councils.

Mr Brewer, the councils’ director of sustainability and resources, will step up to the post of interim chief executive and head of paid service from July 12. He has more than 20 years of experience in local government and has served as a director of the councils since 2014.

New Mayor of Worthing elected

Worthing Borough Council are delighted to introduce the new Mayor of Worthing, Cllr Cathy Glynn-Davies.

Cllr Glynn-Davies, who represents Broadwater Ward on Worthing Borough Council, was last night unanimously voted in as Mayor of Worthing for 2025/26 at the council annual meeting.

Cllr Glynn-Davies said: “Being selected as Mayor of Worthing is a tremendous honour and also a challenge, I’m daunted that I will be following some amazing and popular predecessors from all sides of the political spectrum.
