On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, Worthing Borough Council voted to back a motion endorsing the global call for a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty. The council joins a growing global coalition of councils, organisations and countries calling for a planned phase out of fossil fuels including Brighton and Hove, Lewes, Hastings, Glasgow, Birmingham, Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Colombia, Tinga, Fiji and including almost a million individuals.

Worthing Crematorium has three private memorial garden areas for cremated remains set within its peaceful grounds, but all those spaces are now used or reserved and over 100 families are on a waiting list for a plot.
