Time’s running out for local businesses to apply for vital restart funding

Vital funding is still available to support local businesses to get up and running again as further sectors reopen in line with the latest easing of COVID restrictions.

The Restart Grant, which closes for applications on 30 June 2021, is one of several financial support packages that in the last year have been created for businesses impacted by the COVID pandemic.

They’ll sell deadstock fabrics & yarn - that’s left overs from the garment making industry - as well as beautiful handmade finished goods by different artisans, with an emphasis on repurposed materials. They’ll be offering lessons and social groups for sewing, knitting and many other textiles crafts, led by talented teachers.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Worthing.
Officers were called to Whitebeam Road shortly before 7.30pm on Sunday (April 4) after a man was found injured in the street. It is believed he was assaulted in nearby Longcroft Park.

Disposable barbecue causes fire on Council litter truck resulting in £30,000 in damages

Members of the public are being urged to enjoy open spaces safely this Easter after a disposable barbecue led to a fire destroying Worthing Borough Council vehicle.

Rubbish was being collected at Goring Greensward in Worthing today (April 1) after many residents spent the day yesterday enjoying the warm weather on the common.
