Worthing Runfest returns

Thousands of runners are expected to hit the streets at Worthing Runfest in just over two weeks time.

This year’s Runfest is taking place on Sunday 30 April, meaning Worthing seafront and some other streets will be closed off to cars and transformed into running routes on which friends and family can cheer from the sidelines.

Worthing community groups invited to find out if they are eligible for development funding

Worthing-based community groups, organisations and residents associations are being invited to find out if they are eligible to apply for funding from Worthing Borough Council.

The Council has made changes to how its Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) Neighbourhood Fund is distributed, to open it up to more groups and make it easier to apply.

No new charges at Worthing’s free car parks

Charging will not be introduced at Worthing’s free car parks after councillors consulted with members of the community.

Worthing Borough Council was considering introducing charges at its free car parks in Goring Road, Poulters Lane, Sea Lane, Marine Crescent, Brooklyn Avenue and Elm Grove to help fund the maintenance of the sites and other improvements.

Councils criticise A27 plans

Plans to improve the A27 and provide an environmental and economic boost to the region do not go far enough due to a lack of investment and lack of ambition to improve alternatives to car journeys, councillors have warned.
The road, which is a mixture of dual and single carriageway, is the only east-to-west trunk road south of the M25 and is hugely important for both businesses and residents.
