Cllr Glynn-Davies, who represents Broadwater Ward on Worthing Borough Council, was last night unanimously voted in as Mayor of Worthing for 2025/26 at the council annual meeting.
Cllr Glynn-Davies said: “Being selected as Mayor of Worthing is a tremendous honour and also a challenge, I’m daunted that I will be following some amazing and popular predecessors from all sides of the political spectrum.

New Mayor of Worthing elected
Worthing Borough Council are delighted to introduce the new Mayor of Worthing, Cllr Cathy Glynn-Davies.Cllr Glynn-Davies, who represents Broadwater Ward on Worthing Borough Council, was last night unanimously voted in as Mayor of Worthing for 2025/26 at the council annual meeting.
Cllr Glynn-Davies said: “Being selected as Mayor of Worthing is a tremendous honour and also a challenge, I’m daunted that I will be following some amazing and popular predecessors from all sides of the political spectrum.

“It is my aspiration that every person in Worthing has opportunities to grow and develop, and that together as a council we do everything in our power to ensure that opportunities exist.”
The onlookers were treated to an insight into Cllr Cathy Glynn-Davies as a person as she gave her acceptance speech. You can read Cllr Cathy Glynn-Davies full acceptance speech here.
This year the mayor’s charities will include Worthing Food Foundation and Community Chest, which raises money through recycling partnerships and awards grants to local projects and activities that support the community.
Cllr Lysanne Skinner, who represents Tarring Ward, was unanimously voted in as Deputy Mayor of Worthing for 2025/26 at the annual meeting.
