Do you have the right ID to vote?

The government has brought in new legislation which requires voters to show photo ID when voting at polling stations in some elections.

The new rules will be in place in time for the Worthing local elections on 4 May, so Worthing residents who are voting in person will need to check that they have a valid form of photographic ID which looks like them.

Adur and Worthing residents raise thousands of pounds for local food banks

Food banks in Adur and Worthing have praised the community for helping to raise over £22,500 as part of a crowdfunding campaign.

The Fund our Food Banks crowdfunder was launched in December 2022 to support the 3,000 people who need help from food banks in the area every month by Adur and Worthing Food Network, Adur & Worthing Councils and Community Works, a local organisation that supports the voluntary sector.

Safe in Sussex’s Gingerbread House Success!

West Sussex based charity Safe in Sussex held their annual Gingerbread House Event in December, which combined both community and business entries. The event took place in December at St Oscar Romero School, Goring by Sea. There were some stunning and very creative gingerbread houses on display. The event raised over £3,000 for the charity which supports people experiencing domestic abuse.

Worthing seafront exhibition shines a light on food insecurity

A new photography exhibition that highlights the experiences of people suffering food insecurity has opened at West Buildings shelter on Worthing seafront.

The exhibition, titled Used to the Hunger, was created by Worthing Food Foundation and aims to highlight the experiences of people who access its help as well as raise money for the Worthing Borough Council-backed Fund our Food Banks crowdfunding scheme.
