Distribution Terms and Conditions

Please find updated terms and conditions below. It is important that you read and understand these. Recently, there have been a couple of incidents where distributors have not followed these terms and conditions and have no longer been allowed to deliver for Inside Magazines or have not received the amount of pay they were expecting. If you have questions about any of these conditions, please contact us at [email protected].

  1. Rounds are to be completed within a 9 day period (minimum, depending on the day you receive your round). They generally start (with the exception of Christmas or exceptional circumstances) before the last FULL weekend of the month. So, if a month ends on a Saturday, the round will begin before the previous weekend.
  2. At the beginning of the week (usually Tuesday), that your round is delivered, you will be notified, by text, which day of that week the boxes of magazines and  flyers will be delivered to you (do not reply to this text, if you need to contact us use [email protected]). These will be left on, or near your doorstep, unless you give us instruction for a safe place to leave them. On the delivery day, please leave any leftover magazines and flyers from the previous month and any black plastic boxes used by Inside Magazines outside for collection, in the place that the new magazines are to be left.
  3. You can start delivering the round as soon as you have the magazines, and deliveries MUST be completed by the first Sunday of the following month. Please let us know if you have specific circumstances that will affect the timing of your deliveries.
  4. Before you start delivering, log onto the Roundcontrol tracking app (see instructions provided) and start it running. If you have more than one round allocated, ensure you have chosen the correct one. The tracking allows us to demonstrate to the advertisers (who pay for the magazines and distribution payments) that the work has been completed.
  5. Do not deliver the magazines and flyers in heavy rain, besides it being detrimental to your welfare, the magazines get wet as they are posted through wet letter boxes which damage them. Please remember there is a deadline to the delivery and so if you leave it to the last day to deliver and it is raining, you will not meet the deadline, which will affect payment. If the distribution period contains an extended, persistent period of bad weather then you will be notified of any extension.
  6. Before setting out on your round, ensure that your mobile device has sufficient charge. The charge level is shown to us on the tracking and often when things go wrong, it is due to a low charge. Make sure you have fully read the app instructions, and in particular disabling battery saving preferences for the app. If this is not done, the app ‘goes to sleep’ and stops tracking, which means that not all of the route is tracked properly. If in any doubt, or if you have problems, do not hesitate to contact us and we can help you set it up correctly. Please do not start your round if the app is not working, until you have contacted us.
  7. Keep your phone on you, and not in a trolley or car etc. to ensure that we can see tracking to each property.
  8. You can have up to 4 people helping with your round. These must be family members only, we do not allow friends to help on rounds, for insurance and quality reasons. All helpers MUST have their own log in to Roundcontrol and track from their own mobile device. Contact us with their email details so we can create one BEFORE they start to deliver. Anyone delivering magazines without the app will not be tracked which will affect payment for these magazines.
  9. You do not need to upload using mobile data. Tracking is not visible to us live. When you reconnect to Wi-Fi, the route you have done will be automatically uploaded.
  10. Deliveries are usually carried out over several days. At the end of each delivery session, pause the app. Do not press finish until you have fully completed the round.
  11. Upon finishing the round on the app, answer the questions. These include; if you require cover for the following month; if you are giving notice and the number of magazines/flyers you have left over. You only need to give us the number of magazines you have left. This allows us to determine how many magazines need to be printed and delivered in total. You do not need to count, or tell us, about the number of flyers you have left. However, these do need to be returned to us together with left over magazines.
  12. If you run out of magazines or flyers, please tell us immediately at [email protected] so we can provide you with more. If you don’t ask for more, then you will not have completed your round in time, as we will then need to deliver more to you.
  13. Using the map provided, deliver one magazine to each residential (house, bungalow, flat, maisonette) letterbox. The map lists the roads on your round. Please ignore the numbers listed next to the rounds as they relate to post office numbers, and we adjust them for accurate round numbers (e.g., some are simply PO boxes that we have no access to).
  14. On the boundary of your map, check to see if the boundary line goes down the middle of the road (contact us if unsure). If this is the case, only deliver to the side of the road that is within your map boundary. If you deliver on the other side, or anywhere else that is not on your round, you will be duplicating with another round, and those deliveries will not be paid for.
  15. If there are commercial properties (businesses) on your round such as shops, deliver through the letterbox if the business is closed. If they are open, enter the business as ask if you can leave a copy of the magazine, but do not leave flyers. Some businesses will ask for more magazines, which we are very happy to give, simply let us know, as this is likely to make you run out….we like them sitting in businesses such as shops and it is a quick and easy way to increase the number you are delivering.
  16. If there are any care homes on your round, ring the door bell and ask if they would like some magazines left with then, and if so, how many. Let us know if this is the case and we can increase the number of magazines you are given in future.
  17. If you are given flyers too, deliver one to the same letterboxes as the magazines – look out for specific instructions on your maps for flyers, for example the roofing flyer, must not be delivered to flats.
  18. Ensure that everything goes all the way through the letterbox. Do not leave them protruding. Do not leave any magazines or flyers outside or on doorsteps. If magazines are found to have been left on doorsteps you will not be paid for the round, and you will no longer work for Inside Magazines. We cannot leave magazines on the ground as they become slip hazards and alert burglars to a potentially empty houses if they are not picked up, so we must pay someone to pick up any magazines that have been left outside. This is illegal fly tipping.
  19. If you are delivering to flats, you need to deliver before 10am and use a trade button or similar to enter the building. Do not leave piles of magazines in flats unless we have specifically asked you to. Deliver through each letterbox, unless you are specifically advised otherwise.
  20. Ensure you close all gates behind you. In the past this has not been done and dogs have escaped.
  21. If there is a dog behind the letterbox that is jumping up when you try to deliver, do not post a magazine or flyer if there is a risk of you being bitten and please let us know. Always keep yourself safe.
  22. Stick to paths in gardens. Do not take short cuts over lawns or walls.
  23. Although rare, if you encounter any problems with residents, just walk away. We would like to know about any difficult incidents as we are concerned for your safety and will act on any abusive behaviour towards any of our team.
  24. We calculate what we pay you when we know the number of magazines that have been delivered. Then we pay for the flyers as if there is one with each magazine (even if they have not gone into flats etc). We are unable to pay you until you have finished the round AND finished the app and completed the questions.
  25. Payment will be made by the end of the Wednesday after the Sunday delivery deadline.
  26. Adults who submit invoices, need to submit them by the round completion day please, with the figures completed on Roundcontrol.
  27. If you are late in finishing and have not made prior arrangement with us, payment may be delayed until the following month, after the payments for that month have been completed.
  28. Leave any black plastic boxes and left-over magazines somewhere dry for collection by us the following month. Flyers are often used again, and magazines must be recycled by us as commercial waste.
  29. If you need to stop delivering for us, please inform us at the end of the round when you finish on Roundcontrol. You are given the option to resign. This will ensure that the message gets to the right person. Although we understand that circumstances can change, giving a month’s notice will help us enormously.
  30. If you give up your round part way through delivering it, you will not be paid for any magazines delivered up to that point as we will have to pay someone extra, at short notice, to complete your round.
